“Stride Of Pride” Fourteen Life Lessons From The One And Only Liz Lemon

Lizzzzzz Lemmmmoonnnnnnnnn!

Sue Murphy

One of our favourite ladies in comedy turned 44 yesterday and this got us thinking about some of the life lessons we have learned from one of her best characters, the brilliant Liz Lemon. Here are fourteen pieces of advice from the 30 Rock starlet!

1. Know your enemy.

Know how to defeat him/her. Even if that enemy is a jury, just be prepared.

2. Be comfortable in your own skin…

It’s not the walk of shame, it’s the stride of pride.

3. Pick a best friend who will always be there for you.

If they’re your boss and can help you with many situations, even better.

4. Be clear about your priorities and wishes.

If you want to go to there, well then go to there.

5. Never be ashamed.

Everyone wants to sit at home with some night cheese, it’s fine to admit it.

6. Be the best party planner you can be.

Get the group together. Mandatory.

7. Be your own best friend.

Work out those issues, be strong. Turn to food.

8. There should always be cake.

Always.

9. Be as calm as you can be with the opposite sex.

Conversations are always good.

10. Stay away from hipsters.

It’s just all nonsense.

11. It is PERFECTLY FINE to stay in at the weekend.

Every now and again. All the time. Whichever.

12. No one should ever steal your food.

Let them know that if you have to. It’s a priority.

13. Self-praise IS GOOD PRAISE!

Learn from Liz, know how to praise yourself.

14. Most of all, be happy.

That’s definitely the most important.
