Someone has started a petition for the PUBLIC to name Meghan and Harry’s baby

Olivia Hayes

What is this??

Yes, they may be royal and have certain obligations to the British public – but that doesn’t mean they get to decide what Meghan and Harry call their baby – right?!

A petition has been started for people in the UK to name the royal baby – and we just don’t really understand it. It’s a parents’ decision. It’s their baby. They made it, after all. So, why can’t they name it? Who knows…

The petition reads:

“Congratulations are in order as a new edition to the British Royal family was announced. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they are expecting their first child together in spring. We could not be happier for the entire family.

“With this in mind, we believe the power to name the new royal baby, should be with the general public. We require your signatures to make this possible. With enough signatures the power to name the royal baby will be possible.

“We have created a platform to allow the royalbabyname.com in the case of a royal baby boy or a royal baby girl.”

So far 3 – THREE – people have signed it so it’s not getting very far… but what on Earth?! Honestly…
