Mind. Blown.
It’s a firm staple of every Irish household but this week, everything we thought we knew about Nutella is now in doubt.
It turns out that we have actually been pronouncing it wrong all our lives… at least that’s according to the FAQ section on the official website, and we suppose they must know what they’re talking about.
Twitter was sent into meltdown when Tom Chivers tweeted the fact:
hell no this is NOT OK. http://t.co/A0vWI9kWe4 Via @garwboy pic.twitter.com/J7uJQJOFO0

Fans were completely shocked and as a result, Buzzfeed decided to get clarification on the matter.
They went to direct to the source, and Ferrero responded by saying that they were not going to force an “official” pronunciation.
The news has stunned fans and as for us, the world will never be the same again.

@TomChivers A source of ongoing debate in our house. I say noo-tella, my missus @ottersaregreat punches me and insists it’s nuht-ella.

I’ve been pronouncing Nutella as “Newtella” all my life and all y’all told me I was wrong. I WAS RIGHT. — ♪ーtrxcxa (@trxcxa_jd) August 19, 2015
Apparently Nutella is supposed to be pronounced 'new-tell-ah'.
And people wonder why we loose faith in humanity..
