Much like Scrooge, one thief has seen the error of his ways and brought Christmas spirit back to an Irish town.
Last week, we reported the theft of a 60ft tall inflatable snowman, previously one of the main attractions for the Christmas period in Wicklow town.
Snowy vanished on Monday of last week, shortly after the town launched its Victorian Christmas festival, and the business people of the county town were reported to be very upset over the theft.
Rewards were offered for a safe return while a source at a local Garda station claimed that sometimes decorations are stolen but reappear when the thief ‘sobers up a bit’.
It may have been the longest hangover in history if that were the case, as just over a week later, Snowy is now back where he belongs.
The Irish Independent reports that two Gardaí located an airless Snowy at the Halpin Monument in the town early this morning, following a tip off from an anonymous source. He lay there accompanied by a handwritten sign simply saying ‘Sorry’.

It is being reported that Snowy is safe and well, if looking a little deflated after his adventures.
