From a trip back in time to one of the most famous drug smugglers of all time, tonight’s telly is all about the drama! 

Reeling in the Years – RTÉ One (6.30pm)

Tonight the show is revisiting the year 1979 when thousands of refugees headed to Vietnam and the Ayatollah Khomeini returned to power in Iran.

 

MasterChef – BBC One (8.00pm)

Another five cooks step up to the counter to create a dish to impress the judges before taking part in the palate test which involves a chicken pot pie.

 

Scott & Bailey – UTV (9.00pm)

In the first of the new series the duo are called out to a shocking case at the home of an elderly couple. Starring Suranne Jones and Lesley Sharpe.

 

Stella Days – RTÉ One (9.35pm)

A priest working in rural Ireland in the 1950s gets involved in a church-building project and decides to reopen an abandoned cinema. With Martin Sheen.

 

American Gangster – ITV4 (10.00pm)

Denzel Washington plays Frank Lucas, a drug smuggler whose innovative techniques make him one of the leading figures in the business.
