We’ve always been told that when it comes to sex, men are the ones who are more willing to put out on a first date. However, some new research is suggesting that this stereotype is well and truly dead and that it’s us womenfolk who are more comfortable getting jiggy on date number one.
According to a new survey, women are now more comfortable having sex on a first date than men are. And why shouldn’t we be? But the survey revealed almost half of men are turned off when a woman wants to have sex after the first date. In comparison, only 39 per cent of women would be put off if a man suggested having sex.
The survey, which was carried out by dating website Parship, discovered that when it comes to dating, the biggest turn-off for men and women is a date who is scruffy or badly presented.
The second deal breaker? When an online date hasn’t described themselves accurately.
But the good news is, it seems like we’re a romantic bunch. Only four per cent of the people questioned placed an emphasis on good looks, while most of us tend to search for people who are honest, loyal and who have a great sense of humour.
Are our attitudes changing when it comes to having first date sex?
Markus Fischer, a spokesman for Parship said that the company was always interested to see what values singletons “value most highly in a potential partner” and what things make a date go well or “destroys all chances of a relationship altogether.”
“To see men considering the want for first-date intimacy a bigger turn-off than women was somewhat surprising; whilst stereotype would have us believe otherwise, men are clearly the more prudish of the two sexes!” said Mr Fischer.
What do you think ladies? Are women becoming more comfortable with first date sex?
