Seven Ways To Make It a Summer To Remember

You're welcome.

Her

We all know that with each summer day passing, we have an oath to the glimpse of sunshine to make the most of those longer evenings. Sometimes it’s all about the personal goals, or maybe it’s planning that holiday that’s always a great idea in the pub but hasn’t yet materialised.

We’ve rounded up seven ways to make it a summer to remember – one that’ll leave your Facebook friends suffering the ultimate case of FOMO for your carefree lifestyle…

Challenge Yourself

Ever wanted to bungee jump? Or maybe run a marathon? Make it the summer you reach the milestone and beat one of your ultimate goals. Better yet, grab the girls and make it a group mission. It’ll be harder to back out!

Host a BBQ/ Party

We all have that day in the summer that becomes the night of legendary tales. Chances are somebody gets naked, there’s an unlikely hook-up and a series of pictures and videos will document the night with some hilarious in-joke that nobody will follow. Pre-empt the fun and plan the night that means EVERYONE can make it. Great craic guaranteed.

Plan a Roadtrip

The summer season means it’s time to pull out the camping gear and start planning a trip on the road. From cliff walks, to a festival in the woods, there’s almost too much choice. Just be sure you don’t end up crushed in the backseat. Shotgun!

And While You’re At It…

Spend one day on the beach. No it doesn’t have to be Spain or the Maldives – Irish sunshine deserves to be commemorated with sunburnt faces on our golden sands. Double points if you get a group involved for volleyball, soccer or a water fight. We promise you won’t look back and regret a minute stretched out in the sand with a good book and dip in the water.

Make New Friends

Never underestimate the power of a new friend. They haven’t heard your catalogue of hilarious life stories and there’s always a space for a kindred spirit who loves to dance, has the same film taste and a passion for chocolate, ice-cream and all things fatty.

Summer Lovin’ Flings

He’s wildly inappropriate, but happens to look amazing in shorts and the tan is doing him every favour. A summer fling promises some late night action, and daydreaming texts while you pretend you’re just not that into it. It’s ok, nobody blames you for getting swept up in the heatwave. Besides, some fun in the sun doesn’t need restricting to the beach.

Search New Shores

With every Irish summer, there’s a strong chance the sun won’t make it past those clouds for more than a few days of the week. We’re all about checking out Costa del Cork, but it never hurts to guarantee some sunshine with a mini break. Take on the exotic, or lounge by a pool, once you board a plane, the rest seems to take care of  itself. Holiday of a lifetime = summer to remember. No matter what language you happen to stumble through.
