Seven Things You May Not Have Known About… Channing Tatum

There are so many things that we encounter on an almost daily basis that we never stop to think about some of the more interesting facts about them. From our favourite movies to food and makeup, we will attempt to bring you some random information that you will most definitely be able to use as a future party trick. This week we focus, well we are trying to focus, on Channing Tatum. 1. Channing is dyslexic. He has spoken out openly about his learning difficulties in the past: "I truly believe some people need medication,” he says. “I did not. I did better at school when I was on it, but it made me a zombie. You become obsessive. Dexedrine, Adderall. It’s like any other drug. It’s like coke, or crystal meth. The more you do, the less it works. For a time, it would work well. Then it worked less and my pain was more. I would go through wild bouts of depression, horrible comedowns. I understand why kids kill themselves. I absolutely do. You feel terrible. You feel soul-less. I’d never do it to my child.” 2. He was a male stripper. Magic Mike is loosely based on Channing's actual career as a stripper: "That’s kind of the whole point of male stripping. You go out and make a fool of yourself. That’s what girls and women want. It’s not really sexy. It’s kind of cheesy. Women are so sultry and sexy, and that’s why guys go to strippers. But I think girls go to be embarrassed with their friends." We die. 3. He's in a Ricky Martin video. Channing was cast as a dancer for the "She Bangs" video. Blink and you will miss him. 4. And this Mountain Dew commercial. Complete with pouty looks. Of course. 5. He and his wife have matching tattoos. Both Channing and his wife Jenna Dewan have a tattoo that reads "Side by Side". They had the tattoos done on their honeymoon in Bali. It's all a bit too much. 6. This was his signature stripping song. When he worked as a stripper, this was Channing's signature tune. He would dance like this, to that. We can't take it. 7. He lost his wedding ring on set. Channing lost his wedding ring on set but decided to wear a piece of string instead while filming. "I like to call it a place holder, but my wife likes to call it a reminder. My prop master on the movie I'm doing at the moment lost my wedding ring. It's fine, accidents happen."
