It’s the last Monday of January. Finally. Mondays tend to get a bad rap, but this one seems to be particularly tough. We’re going to do our best to take this day in our stride, and we’d love to see everyone else doing the same.
Here are seven simple ways to give your Monday a boost…
Read something for pleasure
Get yourself that book you’ve been meaning to buy for the last six months. We’ve got our eye on The Girl On The Train.
Make a Monday playlist
Ask your friends what they’re listening to or scope the internet for some new tunes. There’s nothing better than discovering a new favourite song. We’re loving the latest from José Gonzalez.
Watch a movie
The cinema will be cheaper and quieter today. And it’s Oscar season so you’ve got a great pick of flicks. Boyhood, Whiplash and Birdman are all worth a watch.
Listen to an episode of Serial
You’re guaranteed to get hooked on this podcast and it’ll keep you intrigued for days and weeks to come. Trust us.
Treat someone to lunch
You know what your colleagues like for lunch – you eat with them every day. If you’re in Dublin, head to Mespil Road and pick up a free lunch for yourself and your friend from LowLow’s pop-up #ShareShop. Just tweet @lowlowkerry with the hashtag #ShareShop for a free toastie or like the LowLow Facebook page for a free Snack Pack. Show your tweet, like or photo to the cashier and collect your free lunch.
Start a new series
Pick a new TV show and watch the first episode. Suits, Broadchurch, The Good Wife, House of Cards and Marco Polo are all tickling our fancy at the moment.
Plan something nice for next week
Our bank balances will be looking much healthier in a few days time. Take the time to Whatsapp your friends and arrange a catch-up dinner for next week. Bye bye, dry January.
