Seven Reasons You Should Stay At… The Kensington Hotel, London

We're already planning our next trip!

Rebecca McKnight

Fancy a weekend away? Or maybe you have an occasion in mind and you want to do something special? Then again, you might just want some rest and relaxation.

Whatever the reason, you needn’t look any further than The Kensington Hotel in London. To be completely honest, we can’t say enough good things about this place.

Here are seven of them…

Luxurious location
Located at the corner of Queen’s Gate and the Old Brompton Road, The Kensington Hotel is set in a luxurious residential area with plenty of restaurants, an array of pubs and a gelato place you HAVE to check out (it’s called Scoop). Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are also close by if you fancy a stroll.

Nearby attractions
The Natural History Museum is within walking distance of the hotel as is the Victoria and Albert Museum. For those shopaholics, Harrods is a 20-minute walk away (or a five-minute tube journey). Portobello Market is another must on the list. Filled with antiques and food, you will definitely find something different here.

Easily accessible
The South Kensington tube station is less than a five-minute walk away which means you have access to all the main routes into the city itself. Getting to the likes of Oxford Street, Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus couldn’t be easier… and neither could carrying your shopping bags back to the hotel!

Gorgeous rooms
The hotel itself mixes contemporary art with traditional furnishings to create an elegant yet cosy setting. Whether you have been queuing up in shops all day or decided to take in a show in the West End, this is the perfect place to wind down after a busy day. We’d highly recommend doing so with a cocktail in your hand.

You will not beat the Kensington when it comes to customer service. The staff are very attentive and incredibly helpful. Whether you want suggestions about where to eat or need directions, they are on hand with the relevant information. They always greet you with a welcoming smile which goes a long way.

Afternoon Tea
As well as a range of sandwiches, you can feast on scones and miniature desserts. You can choose from an array of teas or, if you fancy something extra special or are celebrating a special occasion, there’s also the option of champagne. In the evening, check out the on-site Aubrey Restaurant and Bar.
