t’s Friday and there’s nothing like a glass of wine and a bowl of ice cream to make a night in front of the telly extremely luxurious but usually it doesn’t leave our pockets screaming in agony.
However, Häagen-Dazs have done just that by teaming up with London design duo Doshi Levien to create a biscuit cake masterpiece in the shape of the far away moon.
The gourmet ice cream cake contains layers of pistachio, macadamia ice cream, meringue and raspberry sorbet and can be ordered for a whopping €62 (£55).
This ball of deliciousness is handmade in Paris, France and those desperate to get their hands on it will have to fight it out as only 50 cakes will be made for foodies in Ireland and the UK.
The interior of the moon shaped masterpiece
Designer Jonathan Levien (one half of Doshi Levien) said: “The idea of working with Häagen-Dazs to create a cake made entirely of ice cream was irresistible.
“The mood idea came from many different places and has elements of fantasy, adventure and imagination.
“We imagined the shape and texture of an ice cream scoop being like the moon as in a famous childhood Bollywood song,” he said.

We have to admit, the cake does look delish and it would certainly spruce up the traditional Christmas dessert menu.
