Santas, Shane West and a Scrumptious Christmas Dinner: The Best of Tonight’s TV

It's that time of the week again but don't be sad, it's only a week until Christmas and tonight's telly is great!

This time next week, you could be too busy to sit down and relax in front of the small screen so why not enjoy this evening while you can?

Nigellissima – BBC Two (8.00pm)

Nigella Lawson shows how to have an Italian-inspired Christmas this year from canapés including Parmesan shortbreads to the turkey stuffed with Italian sausage and marsala-steeped cranberries. And that’s not mentioning the delicious desserts she’ll be whipping up!

Bad Santas – Channel 4 (9.00pm)

We’ve seen the film but this is real life. The first part of this documentary provides an insight into a Santa school in the UK. Yes, a Santa school! Unemployed men have to undergo a number of challenges before they can graduate and play the jolly man.

A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen – TG4 (9.30pm)

Superhero films are all the rage at the moment so why not take a look back at one of the older ones. This flick sees the Invisible Man and co trying to save the world. Acting legend Sean Connery and A Walk to Remember star Shane West are among the cast.

Coal, Frankenstein and Mirror – RTÉ One (9.35pm)

Cameras follow teachers, parents and pupils from four different schools in Ireland as they prepare for their respective nativity plays. But, as with most productions, it’s not all glitz and glamour for those involved.

8 Out of 10 Cats – Channel 4 (10.00pm)

This edition of the quiz show, hosted by Jimmy Carr, takes a look back at some of the highlights of the current series including moments from the two team captains Jon Richardson and Sean Lock.
