The majority of us have experienced a flight delay at some stage along our travels, however this next video takes the issue to the very extreme.

Passengers who boarded Ryanair Flight 8347 on Valentine’s Day from Stansted to Porto were due to depart from the airport grounds at around 8pm. According to passengers, 11 hours later and they remained at Stansted airport.

Passengers claim they were refused the right to leave the plane and were forced to call police.

The episode was filmed by João Pinheiro and many stages of the delay are detailed in this next pretty shocking video.

People onboard the Ryanair flight had their requests for food and water denied, and in the end were rescued when security had to enter the aircraft.

According to the The Independent UK, Ryanair sincerely apologised to anyone affected by the delays caused by adverse weather conditions. The company claim that contrary to the video, passengers were provided with refreshment vouchers.

Uploaded to YouTube just two days ago, the video has since gone viral.

UPDATE Feb 21st 9.20am: A spokesperson for Ryanair has contacted Her.ie to say:

The delay was caused initially by adverse weather and further delayed due to fuelling at the airport. Passengers were disembarked and provided with refreshment vouchers. The aircraft departed at 7.50am the following morning.

I can confirm that passengers remained on board for 3 hours.

Ryanair sincerely apologised to all passengers affected by these adverse weather delays, which were outside of our control.

With this flight and every flight we always work hard to get our customers to their destination.
