The Greatest Football Man.
Legendary RTÉ pundit John Giles bid farewell last night following the final of the Euros 2016. He has been at the forefront of RTÉ sports broadcasting since he began in 1986.
He celebrates a hugely successful career with clubs such as Manchester United and Leeds United and also as the coach of the Republic of Ireland team from 1973 to 1980.
And last night, for his final time on the RTÉ football panel he was joined by Eamon Dunphy and Liam Brady.
President Michael D. Higgins led the goodbye tribute from RTÉ which left Giles close to tears, along with the rest of us.
