Roy Cropper: Unlikely Soap Sex Symbol?

If you think about which soap characters you would like to go on a date with, bumbling café owner Roy Cropper would be at the bottom of the list, right? Looking unnatural in anything other than an anorak, he isn’t many people’s idea of a sex symbol.

Could he be more attractive than he might seem from afar? Here are five reasons why we might fancy Roy after all:

The fact that Roy got married to Hayley, a transsexual, after finding her in Holland before she was due to go under the knife suggests that he’s pretty experimental! Also, to go all the way to Amsterdam to rekindle their love says that he’s a true romantic.

He’s a bit of a lad

When he’s not serving the residents of Weatherfield, Roy likes to go on Twitter and share some of his thoughts.

Who doesn’t love a man who can provide for himself and his family? Roy’s Rolls has been a mainstay in Corrie for years, and he’s never short of customers, so he shouldn’t be short of cash. That alone should be a good excuse for you to marvel at Roy’s buns!

He’s a style icon!

Not everyone’s got a thing for anoraks and slacks; but Roy doesn’t really care about what he wears, which makes him a bit of a rebel! Anyone who doesn’t like to conform to trends is, in a way, pretty stylish - and he does look pretty dashing from some angles!
