Romantic getaways have been found to be more popular than party breaks according to a new survey.

The study by Direct Holidays Ireland revealed that people prefer to go away with their other half rather than a group of friends.

In fact almost 90 per cent of people said they would choose a romantic trip for two over a wild week of partying with friends.

Even sweeter is the fact that a third of couples said that they had whisked their other half away for a surprise break in the past.

Women were found to be more likely to ditch their men for a break away with friends and picked Irish Rugby player Tommy Bowe as the man they would most like to fly off on holiday with.

Surprise surprise, model Georgia Salpa claimed the top spot as the woman men would most like to head off with for a couple of weeks.

No wonder Georgia Salpa is the women men want to head off to the beach with.
