Research finds the most romantic proposal spot in the world and would you agree?

Paris might be called the city of love but it didn't make the top spot on a recent list of most romantic places to pop the question. The survey, conducted by dating site Elite Singles, found that Venice is currently top of the pile when it comes to asking that all-important question. Gondola rides and dreamy sunsets, it doesn't get much more romantic than that. Paris is still a hugely popular place when it comes to marriage proposals and it's still holding strong at number two. Given the dreamy views from Montmartre and the sparkling lights of the Eiffel Tower, we can definitely see why it would appeal to someone hoping to plan a marriage proposal. Hawaii, The Bahamas and Fiji round up the top five and we think you'll agree that it's a pretty exotic bunch of locations. That said, it doesn't matter if the proposal is in your kitchen or during the holiday of a lifetime as it's guaranteed to be an exciting and special moment all the same. It's fitting then that "at home" is named at the sixth spot followed by Bali, New York, Niagra Falls and Sydney. Many of these places are bucket list destinations and it's not surprising that someone might choose to ask someone to spend the rest of their lives together during such a memorable time. Awwwww. The survey compiled the results after asking 1,600 people and we have to say most of the results ring true, especially considering all the engagement selfies and location posts that we see on social media.
