Remember that Limerick Girl Who Lost Her Job Over Electric Picnic?

Every cloud has a silver lining...

Earlier this week we had the story of one Limerick girl who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of her favourite music festival

Emily Culhane was shellshocked to be served her marching papers ahead of the festival, as she had flagged her request for time off several weeks in advance. Having spent €220 on a ticket, the Munster native went ahead with her plans, posting a snippet from her dismissal email on the official Electric Picnic Facebook page.

She wrote: “If you cared about your job, you’d sell your electric picnic ticket’ my boss said… EP better be worth it”

But every cloud has a silver lining and since Emily’s story first appeared on Her.ie she has been offered not one but four new jobs… and counting.

One came live on national radio, via Eoghan McDermott’s show on RTÉ 2FM. The manager of the Library bar in Limerick, a man by the name of Paul, phoned in and offered Emily a position. He told the station: “There’s a job for her when she comes back from Electric Picnic. There are a few options there for her. Firstly, starting behind the bar. Let’s see how it goes with her.”
