Referee John McCarthy Has Revealed What Conor McGregor Said To Aldo After The Fight

And it's kinda sweet.

The world is still reeling after Conor McGregor became UFC Featherweight Champion in less time than an Instagram video.

But we’d say few are reeling as much as his opponent Jose Aldo, who was knocked out in the incredible 13 second fight.

While McGregor is renowned for his trash talk and intimidation in the lead up to fights, it turns out what he said to Aldo while they awaited Saturday’s decision was full of sportsmanship. While they stood hand-in-hand with referee John McCarthy, the new champion turned to acknowledge Aldo and according to McCarthy, who was obviously in clear earshot of the two, told him that he was a great champion and that if he wanted, they could do it again.

It looks like Aldo may take McGregor up on his offer, as he has already made it clear that he strongly desires a second chance at the title.

Asked if he would look for a rematch on Brazilian television, the former champ said: “Of course, if God wills it, now, firstly I want to get back to gym and come back stronger. And of course, a rematch. I think every champion, after losing, and especially the way I lost – no excuses, I lost, he connected with a good strike and was successful – but, of course, I want a rematch. If God wills it, we will come back a lot stronger, and we will bounce back.”
