Sarah-Elizabeth Graham Harbison currently feels like a very lucky woman.
Sarah and her partner Anthony, thought they had lost their puppy Lilly in a fire at their apartment in Cullman, Alabama earlier this month.
The couple thought they had lost everything in the blaze but on searching the department debris, an insurance adjuster found their puppy Lily in her kennel.
Lily had been trapped inside which protected her from falling debris and apart from singed hair, the puppy is perfectly fine.
The fire started on the bottom floor and quickly spread across the apartment complex, Sarah tried to get to Lilly but part of the floor collapsed and stopped her from doing so. Sarah’s son Noah was not in the apartment at the time.
“I don’t feel like we’ve lost anything, really,” Sarah told The Cullman Times. “We’re just so happy to have her back.” Anthony and Sarah have since gotten married, and the whole family, including Lilly, are now settled in a new apartment.
