*Warning – some images could cause distress.*
Holiday snaps tend to be of family days in the sun or sitting on a beach with friends. One teen has caused a lot of anger over her latest set of Facebook pics – the animals she met in Africa that she later hunted for sport.
Hunter Kendall Jones caused outrage on Facebook when she started posting pictures of herself posing alongside the prey she had hunted and killed in Africa.
The Texan teenager sparked a 40,000 strong petition against her social media updates, after the photos included pictures of hunted or tranquilised prey such as lions, rhinos, antelopes, leopards, elephants and more from her travels.
According to The Huffington Post, the petition started in a bid to have the images removed from the site reads:
“For the sake of all animals, especially the animals in the African region … where hunters are going for gun just to kill an animal! Some people have been reporting the pages lately but it seems Facebook is not concerned about what Kendall Jones is promoting in her page.”
Jones doesn’t seem too concerned by the backlash though, stating in her posts:
‘Everyone that doesn’t think people eat elephant, this is only part of the village that showed up to take a little protein home’
As well as:
‘While all of the ANTI Hunters were hiding behind a computer writing repulsive comments and issuing death threats to me, well I was out doing a White Rhino Green Hunt’
And probably most troubling:
‘Again, doing my part in conservation to make a difference.’
Photos posted also indicate Jones may be hoping to secure television work, having recorded some of her hunting pursuits.
