To mark National Doughnut Week (yes it’s a thing and yes you should use it as an excuse to treat yourself to a box of doughnuts), Krispy Kreme has created the world’s most expensive doughnut.
The mouth-watering treat was unveiled at Selfridges on Oxford Street in London this morning and it’s quite the sight, although it should be considering it costs £1,000 and took three days to put together.
According to reports it is filled with Dom Perignon 2002 vintage champagne jelly along with a raspberry and Chateau d-Yquem crème.
On top is a passion fruit glaze, edible 24ct gold leaf, handmade gold-dusted Belgian white chocolate lotus flowers, blossoms, ivy and butterflies as well as edible diamonds.
We hate to break to those of you who would have and be willing to spend a grand on something that would be gone in five minutes but it’s not for sale.
