PICS: Woman Shares Warning After Single Piece Of Glitter Causes Her To Lose Her Eye

A woman has shared a stark warning after one tiny piece of glitter caused her to lose her eye. Erica Diaz has said to anyone who reads her story: "I beg you, PLEASE wear eye protection when dealing with glitter." While glitter can be a pain to get rid of, for this woman, it was downright dangerous. Erica was cleaning up after arts and crafts with her young daughter when a small fleck went in her eye. The fleck cut her cornea, leading to a painful infection that left her blind. Her long and painful journey, documented on Imgur, has seen her receive two cornea transplants and ultimately having her eye removed because the risk of sepsis was just too great. She now has a prosthetic eye in its place, and has maintained a sense of humour throughout the whole ordeal, with Imgur updates like, "I fought the glitter and the glitter won". However, her medical bills have piled up over the years, so much so that a third party has set up a GoFundMe page to help ease some of the financial burden.
