It might be the end of summer holidays, but for one set of students, their return to school is set to have a magical touch.
One reading teacher in the US decided to inspire her students… by transforming their classroom into a Harry Potter theme (otherwise known as every muggle’s dream).
Stephanie Stephens decided to surprise her students in Oklahoma City by decorating her classroom with some Hogwarts style effects.
As well as a 9 ¾ platform entrance doorway, students were greeted with a stand of potions to rival Professor Snape, a replica of the chimney at Privet Drive and a complete set of Hogwarts letters.
Stephens even went so far as to include Harry’s infamous lightning bolt scar on one wall.
Speaking to ABC news, Stephens explained her motivation behind her wizardry:
“One of the toughest things as a reading teacher is instilling a love of reading in students that do not like reading.
“This year, I chose to go with a Harry Potter theme because if I am excited and enthusiastic, students tend to follow suit. My goal is to help students find at least one book or genre that they can find exciting and be as enthusiastic about as I am regarding Harry Potter.”
The 31-year old hopes that by including inspirational and motivational quotes from JK Rowling’s books in her classroom, that her class will realise “they only deserve the best.”
Somehow we think Stephanie Stephens will be the teacher kids will always look back on and remember.
