Madeline Stuart is a 19-year-old model from Australia who was born with Down’s Syndrome.
She has had a very successful start to her career, modelling in New York Fashion Week last autumn, and has been spotted on the runway again for this past Spring’s event.
Stuart has been widely praised for representing the Down’s Syndrome community in the fashion world, that is notorious for its lack of diversity and representation of different people.
Meg O’Connell, President of Global Disability Inclusion praised the model, telling The Telegraph:“People want to see people like themselves in fashion and advertising and marketing campaigns.People with disabilities buy clothes and cars and houses. They want to be represented, like everyone else; disability has been the forgotten diversity segment.”
She’s recently participated in a bridal photoshoot, and has shared some of the snaps on her Instagram account.
