We’re big fans of reading here in Her towers, and any resources that encourages it at a community level tends to be a good thing.
Somerset County Council decided to set up a mobile library, and even painted a quote to inspire the locals to pick up a book.
It probably would have been useful to double-check their spelling before they hit the road though.
A pic starting making the rounds before the van did, with the quote painted on:
‘Reading is to the mind what exersice is to the body.’
Speaking about their blunder, a spokesman for the council said:
“We are aware of the mistake on this particular mobile library and as far as we are aware this is the only vehicle with the mistake.
“It will be corrected at a minimal cost.”
A little awkward, but very, very funny.
