With the cold, snow and often icy conditions out there, it can be a difficult time for the elderly to get out and about, let alone do their food shop.
A Canadian photo has gone viral this weekend after one shop assistant did his part to make sure one of his customers got home safely.
Austin MacNeill, a cashier at Sobey’s grocery shop, was snapped walking home an elderly, blind woman from the store on Friday evening.
Concerned she might slip or fall, MacNeill walked the lady to her house to make sure she got back safely.
The photo was taken by Terri Bordage Stevens, who posted the picture to Facebook, attracting more than 15,000 likes and 5,000 shares since yesterday morning.
MacNeill said he didn’t know the woman, “but it’s just kind of the thing we do around this store.”
This is really lovely.
