Most women have grown up with a Barbie doll, and although some people took the obsession a little too far (we’re looking at you Valeria Lukyanova) but now there’s a new doll to add to your collection. We’re just not so sure about the tagline…
Enter Lammily, the fashion doll with the tagline “Average Is Beautiful.”
Using details from the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, graphic designer Nickolay Lamm has created a 3-D model of “Normal Barbie” using the measurements of the average 19-year-old American woman.
Now, Lamm has launched a crowd-funding project to make a proportional doll available to consumers.
Backers of the project have already surpassed the original goal of $95,000, pledging $144,453 to the campaign, with 29 days left until the deadline.
