Celebrations are taking pace across the country this weekend to mark the one-year anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising. Parades have been planned and special events will take place throughout the weekend.
Some other special features have been created in various cities for the commemorations.
Cork City Hall has been lit up with the Irish tricolour to mark the celebrations.

Meanwhile in Dublin, Bank of Ireland on College Green has also chosen a similar lighting display to commemorate the centenary of the Rising.

And on Camden Street a mural was being created last night to mark the momentous event.
