This guy has got a serious case of the green fingers. Gardener Eric Rayment found a rather a large courgette in his vegetable patch and so decided to design it into a submarine.

Rayment was inspired by the HMS Alliance which is the only surviving Word War 2 ocean-going British submarine and thus, the HMS Courgette was born!

Rayment is volunteer at the Submarine Museum.

“HMS Courgette is a vegetable class submarine. Her patrol success as detailed on the Jolly Roger flag shows 3 Attack Carrots, 11 Merchant Peas and 1 Anti Submarine Tomato” he said.

The veggie submarine will be on display in the Learning Centre at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum.
