Her

“Is this what dying feels like?”

Every month it arrives, it leaves, and before you know it, it’s making its presence felt again. Hopefully. PMS affects us all in different ways, but there are certain things that we all reach for during that time of the month.

Check out our ultimate PMS survival guide below.

1. Get yourself a decent hot water bottle (or two)

The answer to most of life’s problems. If you live in Ireland and you don’t own at least one hot water bottle, you’re missing out. You’re missing out on a cramp-relieving, heat-providing, surprisingly-comforting bottle of goodness. You can pick up the above beauty from Etsy.

2. Stay clear of things / humans that annoy you

Let’s face it, people are irritating. And they’re even more irritating when you’re PMS-ing. Whether it’s your other half or your house-mate that drives you crazy during that time of the month, make sure they’ve got plans. Plans that involve being very far away from you.

3. The most comfortable lounge wear you can find

There’s nothing like getting home after a long day and crawling into freshly-washed PJs. Or a slanket, snuggie, or a onesie. Whatever works for you. Wear it and wear it proud.

4. A great selection of movies

Or your latest series of choice on Netflix. Set aside some special time for you and all of your on screen friends. Curl up on the couch and escape to the magical world of cinema. And if you’re on the verge of tears, let them flow.

5. Chocolate

All of the chocolate. Well, not all of it. But a decent amount. Listen to you body and indulge when you feel like it. You deserve a treat.

6. A selection of herbal teas

For 90 per cent of the month, we’re major coffee fiends. But during that time of the month, all we’re interesting in drinking is herbal teas. They provide major relief, so find your favourite and enjoy.

7. A supply of krill oil

Krill oil is said to help reduce the physical and psychological symptoms of PMS naturally. Krill oil brings the goodness of omega 3 fatty acids which helps lift our mood and aid concentration. And that’s something we’re all in need of during that time of the month.

Cleanmarine® Krill Oil for Women is available in Health Stores, Pharmacies and online. You can win a year’s supply of Cleanmarine® Krill Oil for Women at www.cleanmarine.ie/win
