We have never been huge fans of PDA and the majority will agree that sometimes people share a little too much of their private life online.
We all have those friends on Facebook that overshare when it comes to their relationship – we’re not lonely and bitter, we swear.
A study was carried out to find out the reason people feel the need to constantly post about their relationship online and the results are very interesting…
People using any social media platform often attempt to shape others’ perceptions of them, however the research investigates ‘relationship visibility’, and the role of relationship sharing.
The study, which was published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin journal, discovered that those who share the most are the ones that feel the most insecure and anxious.
“These studies highlight the role of relationships in how people portray themselves to others.
“On a daily basis, when people felt more insecure about their partner’s feelings, they tended to make their relationships visible”.
