Now we’ve heard about outsourcing business but outsourcing your love life? Surely that’s a bit much? Believe it or not, a Wall Street executive has placed an advert on classifieds website Craigslist seeking a woman who can manage his online dating profiles.
“I am looking for a female who can screen, write, respond to and set up telephone calls with potential dates from online dating websites,” the advert reads.
“I am a busy Wall Street professional and don’t have time to do this myself. The right person will be a good writer and have a passion for social media,” the ad continues.
The businessman also notes that the job will be done “off-premises” and you’ll have to use your own computer.
If you had the money, would you pay someone to write your online dating profile for you?
It seems like a bizarre story, but this isn’t the first time a man has done the whole ‘outsourcing’ thing when it comes to finding love.
Back in August, a man from San Francisco took to Craigslist to try and find a ghost writer who would create his online dating profile for him. The successful writer would be given $200 for creating the profile and would receive an additional $40 for “each successful first date you set up with a girl of whom I approve.”
The idea of outsourcing your love life is not brand new. Apparently an entrepreneur named Scott Valdez has already cashed in on the phenomenon by creating his company Virtual Dating Assistants.
“One day it dawned on me that there was probably a demand for this service for overworked executives who want to meet people but don’t have time,” said Scott, speaking to NBC News.
“I was working crazy hours as a marketing executive, usually over 70 hours a week. I was also online dating but didn’t have time for it. So I found someone on Craigslist to handle my online dating accounts and it worked out great,” he added.
What do you think ladies? Is outsourcing your love life the way forward?
