We all have a special woman in our lives, mothers, sisters, aunts, cousin and friends to name but a few.
Chances are you don’t see them every day but they are always at the end of the phone when you need them, and this person always seems to know the right thing to say, no matter what the situation.
These special ladies deserve something special and together with Littlewoods Ireland, we would like to make sure they treat themselves for once.
This week, the winner of a €100 Littlewoods Ireland voucher is Leona Byrne.
Leona was nominated by her sister Natalie Bourke who tells us, in her own words, why Leona deserves to win.
“I’d like to nominate my good friend Leona Byrne to win the above voucher. In the last year she has lost a lot of weight (we don’t believe in scales but I would estimate it to be at least three stone) simply through diet and exercise.
“She has such a healthy attitude to food and exercise and is such a positive role model to all women, focusing not on being skinny or strong, but on the amazing things her body can do and how good she feels.
“Leona has taken part in numerous events over the past year and has raised vital funds for some very worthy charities by doing so – Galway Bay Half Marathon, Connemaraton and the Great Limerick Run Half Marathon, and Tough Mudder to name a few.
“Here she is in the photo below approaching the finish line in Limerick. She is already signed up and registered to participate in Ireland’s first Tough Mudder when it hits Dublin in October with an aim of raising €100,000 for Cystic Fibrosis, a few weeks before running the Dublin City Marathon”.
“She is just a normal everyday woman holding down a full time successful HR job, however she puts her free time to great use and also has the kindest heart of anyone I know.
“Leona would go to the moon and back to help you out, and recently adopted an abandoned dog from the pound in its eleventh hour, saving its life.
“She never forces her healthy eating or exercise plans on anyone, she simply does what she loves and makes her feel good, but it rubs off on us all.
“A positive and inspiring person, only yesterday Leona told me that she needs some new clothes because this is the first summer she is happy and confident with her body image to wear summer clothes”.
We hope Leona enjoys her €100 voucher, and if you have someone in mind for our Woman Of The Week please get in touch.
