Oscar-Nominated Actress Reportedly Offered Lead Role In Second Series Of True Detective

It was arguably one of the most popular television series from this year and certainly one of the most talked about so thankfully True Detective is heading for another series. However, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson have both declared that they are not too keen on filming a second series so the show's producers have been looking for a replacement detective. According to Nerdist, Jessica Chastain has apparently been offered the lead role for the second series, although as of yet she has declined to comment. True Detective is an anthology series and so features a new storyline and new characters for each new series. There have also been rumours that Brad Pitt was approached for a role on the show but as yet, these are vague.
