Ooh, Burn: X Factor Axes Liverpool Auditions After Being “Underwhelmed By The Talent Last Year”

We weren't his biggest fans but even we feel sorry for Christopher Maloney after hearing this...

The X Factor will not hold auditions in Liverpool this year after being disappointed in the acts from last series.

Instead the talent show, which has fallen out of favour with the viewing public, is going to go to Plymouth.

Liverpool’s Christopher Maloney made it to the final of the last series.

A source told The Mirror: “They have had a few names come from Liverpool in the past but they were pretty underwhelmed by the talent last year.” (Wonder who they’re talking about?)

They added: “They want to try somewhere totally different because they are worried people could get bored and are desperate to diversify the talent on the show.” (Sure, that’s the real reason.)

Simon Cowell still makes most of the decisions when it comes to the show.

The decision has already sparked a reaction from the city’s Deputy Mayor who said: “It’s ridiculous to say Liverpool doesn’t have talent. The last three finalists came from Merseyside.”

But while that might well be the case we can’t see music mogul Simon Cowell, who was said to be annoyed about the Christopher Maloney saga last year, changing his mind.
