It’s a happy day for all you waffle lovers living in Australia!
You may remember the story we brought you a few weeks back about one Irish man’s mission to bring Birds Eye waffles to Australia.
That’s right folks, Brian Nooney from Co. Westmeath had started a massive Facebook campaign in a bid to bring the tasty waffles to the land Down Under, and with loads of people getting on board to support him after the story was published, we all lived in hope.
And hope seemed to have transformed into something tangible this week as Birds Eye Australia left this post on the Facebook page.

Trying not to get too excited, but secretly doing a dance inside, Brian got in touch with them and has since got back in touch with us to update us on what’s been going on.
“The attention for the page went through the roof after the article was published, and I noticed a few days later that Birds Eye Australia had started to like some of the posts,” he explained.
Following up on their request to call him, Brian was thrilled to update fans with this post earlier today.

“I think the credit has to go to all of the Irish people that liked the page and got behind the campaign,” he grinned.
Looks like there’s going to be lots of waffles being ate in Australia in the new year!
