Sometimes, when your other half is going through a rough time, you’d do anything for them.
Make them a cuppa, talk through their worries, or spoil them with a gift.
Unfortunately for one girl trying to help lift her girlfriend’s spirits, the one item on her other half’s wishlist happened to be housed exclusively at a store in London.
American redditor kenziespeights wanted to surprise her girlfriend, so took to Reddit’s London community with her conundrum:
“My girlfriend is absolutely obsessed with a little hand bag that is not available online, but only available in store, in London.
“My girlfriend has been in a really rough place lately and being able to surprise her with something she thinks is absolutely impossible to get would put the biggest smile on her face.”
The bag in question was a Skinnydip pink flamingo bag, stocked at Topshop Oxford Circus in London.
Spotting the plight, fellow Redditor atlbeer realised his offices were near the shop, and purchasing the bag told the group: “Operation Flamingo Transport has begun.”
Redditor atlbeer also told kenziespeights that not only was he travelling to the US, he could deliver her the bag in NYC – saving on shipping costs.
But before he took his flight, he did what any good host would do – he brought his ‘guest’ on an adventure of all the sites:
After his great adventure with his new friend, atlbeer let kenziespeights know that her purse was en route—with a simple caption: “Farewell, my pink friend.”
Kenziespeights decided her girlfriend deserved two gifts instead – the pink flamingo bag and a photo album of her travels to reach them.
Speaking to upvoted, atlbeer said:
“I have a flamingo-sized hole in my carry-on (and my heart) …”
