One person has been killed and thirty-seven more taken to hospital following a car crash on the Las Vegas boulevard on Sunday night.

A female driver reportedly mounted the pavement on the Las Vegas strip and while terrorism has been ruled out, Captain Brett Zimmerman of Las Vegas police said the crash was thought to be intentional.

The crash took place in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

According to The Metro, Zimmerman said: ‘We know this was not an act of terrorism.‘We will comb through that footage to get a detailed idea of what occurred. Right now from what we know, we’re looking at it possibly being intentional.’

Zimmerman also revealed that there was a three-year-old in the vehicle but that the child is unhurt.

The car had been travelling North on the boulevard before it mounted the pavement and struck pedestrians in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino, and continued driving.

The car, which is not registered to Nevada, was later found at a hotel after continuing up the Flamingo road.

According to the site, Nevada governor Brian Sandoval extended his “deepest sympathies to all who are affected by this shocking and tragic event.”

An investigation is ongoing.
