A couple from Iowa celebrated their 79th wedding anniversary this week.
Alvin and Eula Blankenship, who are both 99 years of age, got married on June 12th back in 1934 (their wedding photograph is above).
The couple have been married for 79 years.
Speaking about the day she met her husband, Eula told WOWT Channel 6: “Oh yeah, I danced with him, and we got to get going together, and we finally got married.”
The pair, who now reside in an assisted living facility, spent the majority of their life together working on a farm. They also had one daughter.
They now live in an assisted living facility.
As for the secret behind the success of their long marriage, she insisted it’s all about compromise. “Give and take,” she said.
