Owner of Slane castle, Lord Henry Mount Charles, has said there won’t be a concert in the venue this year.
In 2015, Slane played host to The Foo Fighters, The Kaiser Chiefs and Hozier but earlier today, the Slane Castle Facebook page stated that this year wasn’t an option for a gig.
The post reads: “Lord Henry confirmed today that there will be no show at Slane this year. Slane will return in 2017 when the Slane Distillery is completed”.

According to The Mirror, the Slane Distillery, complete with a visitor center, will open in early 2017.
