Christmas is great what with all the turkey, presents and craic but there are a few wee things that can put a dampener on your festive cheer. The important thing to remember is that these things will be all worth it come December 25th… Queues in the shops Just when you’ve got the right gift chosen and are happy about the prospect of leaving the (always too warm) shop, you have to wait another hour to pay for the thing. Christmas songs These only make the queues worse. Traffic jams Yes we’ve left it late but everyone else should have their shopping done by now so we don’t have to wait in traffic! Pine needles Sure a real tree smells great but having to hoover twice a day sucks. The Christmas card list Accept that it doesn’t matter how many times you update your list or double check it, you always forget one household. Fighting for the turkey Who knew people could be so vicious? The weather Getting up early to defrost the car, having to wear ten layers and the risk of falling on your backside do not fill us with happiness. Hangovers You only have yourself to blame. The thought of the sales Yes we did spend a fortune and no we do not appreciate the fact that shops slash their prices as soon as Christmas is over.
