We all know that back in the day, most women happily tied the knot before they hit their mid-twenties. However, over the years, attitudes to marriage have changed and it is no longer the norm to get hitched as soon as you leave secondary school. So what is the ideal age to waltz down the aisle?
According to a new poll carried out by YouGov, most of us believe that getting married after the age of 30 is “too old” while 53 per cent of us think that 25-29 is just right.
However, 18 per cent of the women surveyed argued that 30-34 is the right time to get married simply because both yourself and your hubby have steady careers by then, plenty of savings and have learned what it’s like to live in close quarters together.
Do you think there’s a “perfect” age when it comes to walking down the aisle?
Surprisingly, the men who were questioned as part of the poll gave similar answers to their female counterparts.
44 per cent of men said that they believed 25-29 was the best time to get married, while 24 per cent fought the corner for the 30-34 age bracket.
Here at Her.ie towers we’re of the opinion that age is just a number and it really doesn’t matter if you’re a 20 year old bride or a 42 year old bride. But what do you think? Do you think there’s ever a “perfect” age to tie the knot?
