The victims of the Orlando Pulse shootings were remembered this weekend.
It’s just over two weeks since the tragic killings of 49 people in gay nightclub Pulse in Orlando, Florida.
The deaths of the innocent victims silenced the world and has struck fear into the LGBTQ community.
This weekend was Pride, a celebration of everyone no matter what sexuality or minority you belong to, with a parade held in Dublin on Saturday and celebrations in other countries held on Sunday.
In New York City, Pride was recognised by a parade and numerous parties but one seriously touching appearance showed the sorrow that many still feel for their deceased brothers and sisters.
Katira Compos, an intern in Manhattan posted a beautiful picture to Facebook displaying angels on the street in memory of the Pulse victims. In a status she explained the concept of the photo
“I worked the pride parade (as an intern) today and marching in front of us were 49 angels…
“From the front they all wore a placard with one victim’s name, picture and age on it”
In memorial of the 49 victims that died in the Orlando massacre, 49 angels guided the parade through the streets of New York City.
Truly beautiful.
