When the fear of terrorism takes grip, it can be hard for some people to separate fact from fiction.
Truth from rumour.
Or apparently the Muslim faith from appalling acts of terror.
Islamophobia is unfortunately very real, and can really impact the lives of people as innocent as those who were victims of an attack.
One story highlighting this fear was spotted by our brothers over in JOE UK this week, when a 25-year old New Yorker took a taxi home from work.
Alex Malloy, who lives in Manhattan, was taking a taxi home from work on Saturday when he found himself faced with a man who was heartbroken.
His taxi driver was a Muslim man, who had been waiting more than two hours to find a passenger willing to sit in his car out of fear.
Alex decided to tweet his experience in the car, in a series of ‘notes’ added to his tweet:
My cab ride home, was the saddest moment I’ve experienced as apart of the human race. Please, stop generalizing ppl pic.twitter.com/O8PdtJlYCO
