In need of a job? This town is looking for someone to care for hedgehogs

If you seriously want this job, you can't (hedge)hog all the attention.

There's a lot to be said for hedgehogs. They're quiet, small, harmless, furry, and most importantly ADORABLE. Well, they sure look it anyway.

If you're a fan, a job opening in Ipswich in the UK might be of interest, as Suffolk Wildlife Trust are currently recruiting for a Hedgehog Officer. The company is hiring on a two-year contract, with responsibilities that include removing barriers for the hedgehogs to move freely, organising events to promote awareness of the prickly creatures, and leading campaigns to inform the masses of the needs of hedgehogs. The salary for the job is a fairly decent £24,000 per annum, which translates over to a tidy €27,953.48. The job listing relays the caring, hedgehog-loving person they are looking for in their detailed description.

"We are looking for an inspirational individual who will be the face of hedgehog conservation in Ipswich. "You will use your knowledge of nature conservation and hedgehog ecology to lead an ambitious project seeking to make Ipswich the most hedgehog friendly town in the UK. "Bringing together your wildlife conservation skills and your experience of leading and developing community wildlife initiatives, you will mobilise participants in Ipswich to create a street by street network of hedgehog accessible habitat and monitor hedgehog activity... "By inspiring streets of people to act together to create habitat links and remove the barriers to hedgehog movement between gardens, your goal is to establish a network of feeding, nesting and hibernating habitat across the town."
