Ms. Efficient: Save Yourself Time, Money And Effort In 2013

Make the time and money you have work harder for you in 2013 with these Ms. Efficient tips!

Less time and money but more to do and more bills to pay?

It’s a familiar story and one that many of us are facing every day. If you’re one of those people and you’d like to get 2013 off to a more efficient start, then we just might be able to help.

We’ll be bringing you weekly tips on how to make the time and money you have work best for you. You’ll be earning the Ms. Efficient title in no time!

____________

Cut Your Work Day By Half An Hour

This may seem a little strange but if you want to be more productive and efficient at work, the best thing that you can do is to set yourself a mental deadline.

If your work day lasts from 9am to 5pm, simply tell yourself that you have to have everything finished by 4.30pm.

Setting a deadline (especially in relation to your workday) forces you to eliminate all the little time wasters in your day like silly interruptions and procrastination.

Remember the old saying ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’? This rings true. Just because you can work all the time doesn’t mean that you should. By setting a deadline, this means that you’ll get your daily load of work completed and you’ll have your final half an hour to deal with any other issues that need your attention before you head home.

Once you’re at home, enjoy your personal life and forget about the office. This will leave you feeling relaxed and ready to be productive when your alarm goes off again in the morning.

Cut Back On Social Networking

Social networking. We all know what it’s like. You go on Twitter to have a quick glance over your feed and the next thing you know, four hours have passed and you’ve stayed up way past your bedtime.

Social networking and technology in general is completely addictive. Now we know that both of these things can enrich our lives greatly, but they’re also a major time drain.

If you’re trying to become a little bit more efficient in your life, why not limit your use of social networks? When you get home in the evening, give yourself ten minutes to catch up on your tweets. Check Twitter/Facebook once in the evening then dedicate your time to doing something else. You won’t regret it!

Get Your Exercise In

Exercise is a natural way to increase your efficiency. Regular workouts not only keep your in a good physical and mental state, they also give you more energy which helps you to be more productive during your day-to-day routine.

If you want to look after yourself and increase your energy and productivity levels, schedule at least four hours of exercise into your week.

Rather than flopping down on the sofa as soon as you get home from work, muster up the energy to go to that yoga class or to hit the gym. You will feel so much better afterwards and you’ll wake up the next morning ready to tackle whatever the day has in store for you.
