Is your man having a mid-life crisis? No worries, just show him the following information and he'll calm down...

For most of us, growing older is a troublesome chore. Another year, another wrinkle – are we right, ladies? But men seem to be hit harder when it comes to ageing up. We’ve all heard of the infamous male mid-life crisis.

Thankfully it’s not all bad for the opposite sex though. In fact, if your man is having panic attacks over the fact that he’s nearing the ripe “old” age of thirty, here’s some news you can use to cheer him up (and hopefully stop that impending urge to buy a sports car and date a young one that he’s having).

According to a new study today, men are at their happiest when they turn 37. Yes, believe it or not. Why is this? Well apparently reaching the age of 37 sees most men having climbed the career ladder and started a family – two things that men need in order to be happy, apparently.

At that age, men have also settled down with the one they love and have formed a close circle of friends that they can socialise with. And they’ve also made it past the years when they are most likely to have a mid-life crisis.

45 per cent of the men who were surveyed as part of the study said that becoming a parent in their thirties was one of the happiest days of their life.

Man ranked ‘becoming a parent’ as one of the happiest moments in their life

The study, which was commissioned by menswear brand Jacamo, also discovered that next to having a child, getting married and seeing their favourite football team win a league were top moments in a man’s life (we love how their wedding day ranked the same as a football match. Typical men, eh?)

Other happy moments included buying a house or a car, proposing to their lady and graduating from university.

Experts say that by the age of 37 most men have already experienced all of these happy moments, making 37 the age when men feel satisfied, complete and deeply contented with the lot they’ve been given.

So if he’s freaking out right now, assure him that it will get better in a few years’ time. And if your man is already 37 enjoy his happy mood for as long as it lasts!
