Mix It Up: May Your Chicken Never Be Boring Again!

It’s mid-week and you find yourself spooning out the chicken and vegetables in despair again for dinner…

But chicken doesn’t have to be a bland dish, aquick mix of a marinade won’t take five minutes to prepare and don’t let yourself sit down to a plain chicken breast again. Try out one of these quick-to-make marinades and have your chicken juicy and tasty, a real flavour-some meal.

Make It Fruity: Lime Marinade

Try a bit of Asian and check out this light splash of lime on the grill for a fruity-flavoured meal.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup of lime juice

1/4 teaspoon of salt

1/8 teaspoon of pepper

1/2 teaspoon of dill

1/2 teaspoon of minced onion

1 1/2-2 pound of boneless chicken breasts

Mix the lime juice, salt, pepper, dill and minced onion. Pierce your chicken breast with a fork and place it in a glass dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken and leave it for about 15 minutes. Cook on a medium-hot grill. Result: delicious.

A Bit Richer: Red Wine Marinade

This red wine marinade is good on anything from chicken breasts to thighs. You can also use it as a basting sauce for a roast chicken. It’s a bit richer than the fruity option, perfect for the upcoming winter evenings.

Ingredients:

2 cups dry red wine

1/4 cup soy or teriyaki sauce

1/2 cup olive oil

4 scallions, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

Mix all the ingredients in a medium saucepan. Let it boil for ten minutes. Allow to cool and you can store it in the fridge for several days.

Honey, Honey: Honey And Mustard Marinade

Whoever first tried a little honey and mustard together should be praised, tihs delicious marinade is easy-to-make and instantly transforms your dinner.

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons of clear honey

1 tablespoon of soy sauce

Mix all the ingredients together to form a runny paste. Pierce the chicken and soak it in the marinade for thirty minutes. Place the meat on a baking tray, don’t be shy to pour the rest of the marinade over the chicken. Place in the oven and bake. Delicious.
