You might want to stay tucked up under a duvet for the next few days.

As well as heavy rainfall, flooding and snowfall, Met Eireann has issued a Yellow wind and rain warning to come into effect from tomorrow morning.

A status yellow rainfall warning was issued for Dublin, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford, with experts predicting 25-35mm of rain expected today.

For those who love to see the first flakes of white wonder, some sleet and ‘wet snow’ will be dusting hills and mountains in Leinster from later tonight.

As well as possible local flooding, there’s a risk of up to 40mm along parts of the south coast forecasted for later this evening.

The rainfall won’t be the only thing dampening your spirit either, with weather forecasters predicting status yellow national wind warning for tomorrow and Saturday.

According to reports from the Met Office, gusts of up to 100km/hr are expected over the coming days:

“Southwesterly winds of 45 km/h to 65 km/h with gusts up to 100 km/h on Friday and Saturday.

“Winds will peak on Friday evening and night with potential for stronger winds for a time in northwestern coastal counties.”

The wind warning will be in place from Friday December 4 at midday right up until 12pm on Saturday.
